Reuben Thorne?.....

I told my big bro he should txt his photo in to the All Blacks Face to Face promotion and see who he comes back as, as The Lad and I were sure it would be Reuben.

Apparently, though, he resembled Matua Parkinson the most:

Singing For His Supper.....

Well, cooking supper for a Scout Badge at any rate:

Part of the earning is the setting of the table as well:

It's A Murder Mystery.....

Imagine my surprise when I checked in on H7, who was getting her pyjamas on after a late night at Brownies, to be met with:

They had been working towards their BandAids and Beestings badge, but I don't think she's quite mastered the Recovery Position for her poor, stricken, Brownie-patient:

Expelliamus.....

We went along to the Papamoa Library tonight to celebrate the release of the new Harry book:

A10 decided to go as Ron Weasley, so we patted down the mohawk and sprayed it red to help look the part:

Bowling on Thursdae?.....

It's H7's Family Fun Night and she has been squirrelling away bottles from out of the recycling these past few weeks in preparation for turning our hallway into a ten pin bowling alley:

Our scoring wasn't computerised, but we *did* manage to find a winner ;o)

After a somewhat predictable feast of sashimi for dinner, we finished with Designer *Thurs*daes (because it's not Sunday.....)

You know you've had some of Nana's Best-Ever Chocolate Sauce when you end up with a chocolate moustache:

Looking Glass Garden.....

I dragged The Lad away from his mountain of work this afternoon and packed the kids in the car and we all drove up the road to visit Gail's enchanted Looking Glass Garden:

The birdlife is fabulous, and abundant - everywhere you look there is at least one of our feathered friends, in an array of shapes and sizes:

And the interesting little treasures you find in all the strangest of places along the way mean that you inevitably spot something new every time you visit:

This rather steep flight of stairs is just a teaser for greater things to come (my calves were burning at the mere thought of it):

Yep, they call this the Stairway to Heaven, and that is sure what it feels like when you start at the bottom (can you see the bottom w-a-a-a-a-a-y down there? It just goes in a straight line up the side of the hill!):

Yep, I finally made it!:

We're gonna come back and camp under the stars up the top here in summer, when the nights are balmy, and watch the sun set on one side and rise again on the other. No tent, just us and the mini Stonehenge array:

L4 resting barefoot on a stranded boat:

There were also some monkeys in the trees up in them thar hills ;o)

After passing the wolf's house (complete with a mess and bones from last night's supper strewn around), we came down the path to the Three Little Pigs' houses. The girls were in the straw house:

L4 was in the house of sticks:

And A10 moved in to the house of bricks:

PS: Happy Birthday Trina xoxoxo

Wedding Photos.....

Here's a photo I was sent of my Great-Grandmother Myrtle Cecilia at her wedding to her second husband Henry Raymond (Tom - he was a Maori All Black):

And here they are flanked by my Grandfather Vincent David (Vince - he was an All Black), and my Grandmother Ivy Fan (Fay):

New Feedback Posted.....

Hi Debbie,

The following negative feedback has been posted about you after a recent auction:

I am not happy at all. Seller never made it easy when doing dishes as a youngster, especially if I was on "putting away" and she was on "drying", dishes were always placed haphazardly for me and this made it difficult to get the job done before "BJ and the Bear" started.

LOL!!! I was gutted my big bruvva changed this feedback to positive when he did a deal with me through TradeMe

It's Awfully Quiet Round Here.....

There's been more Lego building - this one is a multi-faceted robot who can pose in many different and complex ways, don't you know:

And A10 has been ensconced in another Harry Potter book, this time it's The Order of the Phoenix. He's been a bit reluctant to jump on the Harry train, preferring instead CS Lewis, Enid Blyton and Paul Jennings of late. He is determined to read all the books before the new one comes out though, and to see all the movies before the new one comes out, and the play all the PS2 games before the new one comes out, lol!:
