Afghans and Roasted Chestnuts.....

Today L10 made some afghans, because they're her Daddy's faves (he wasn't too keen on the almonds though - "Walnuts, afghans have walnuts":


And we roasted a big batch of chestnuts. Previously we have roasted them in their shell and hoped there weren't too many explosions (a bit more dangerous on an open fire than in the oven). We have also microwaved them in their shell (not my favourite). But my new favourite way is to shell them first, then roast them in oil and salt. Yummmmy!:
