Exploring Central Plateau.....

We couldn't see much past our noses when we woke up this morning, and the mountain was closed due to poor visibility, foul weather and avalanches so we decided to do a bit of a tipi haere round about.

We explored Raurimu and had a quick history lesson about this mini engineering railway feat right here in little ol' NZ:


We did some shopping in the mecca that is Ohakune, and had the obligatory photo by the giant carrot:



Then we went home and had a games afternoon challenge-off in front of the fire, wishing with all our might for fine weather tomorrow:
