Magic Maketu.....

Must be Friday, because we were at the beach again ;o)


Different beach to our usual, though - this time we travelled down the Coast a smidge to Maketu to meet with a few other homeschoolers:



We looked pretty formidable spread from one end of our chosen stretch of beach:

The current was pretty strong at times so a rope was stretched across to help those not-so-strong swimmers get across to the diving platform (it's amazing how many hours fun can be had with a simple piece of rope!):





We were sharing the beach with this lovely group and got chatting - they were brothers and sisters (with their respective spouses) and one close family friend - they had been going to Maketu beach every week since they were kids (the oldest there was 93, but the oldest sister was absent today!) - incredible:


Just as we were leaving, we spotted Joel and Henry coming back up the beach, apparently they were at a bit of a loss as to how to transport their newly acquired seaweed collection?
