McCardles Bush.....


We'd been to the Papamoa Flea Market, had a visit with Aunty Jan, headed home for a hearty (bacon, sausages, eggs, spaghetti, courgette, tomato, fresh garlic twist, juice and coffee) brunch and then we went for a wander round one of the walking tracks in Tauranga.


The route we usually take was closed, so we started where we would usually call halfway (and turn around and head back to the car) and went from there.



We saw these two with their remote-controlled model boat and stopped for a drink and a muesli bar and a bit of a chat and a watch:


You can't really see it very well in the photo, but this is an artists' impression of Motuopae when it was an inhabitated Maori pa:


And you can't see it very well in this photo either, but there is an Urupa (cemetery) out on the island:
